Freiburg
This tour offers you an extraordinary walk about the city’s historic district in the company of the kindhearted and lively Black Forest girl Bärbele (played by a professional actress).
During the tour, which begins with a sparkling-wine reception in the historical vaulted cellar of Germany’s oldest inn “Zum Roten Bären,” Bärbele will entertain you with fascinating and humorous accounts of the city and its residents.
After the tour of the historic district, Bärbele will lead you to a restaurant housed in the 200-year-old manor “Greifenegg Schlössle.” This “quiet shrine,” as it was referred to by its builder, is perched on a steep slope above the city — a truly privileged location from which to take in a spectacular view of the city while enjoying Black Forest cake and a hot beverage.
The “Greifenegg Schlössle” can also be reached via elevator.
(alcohol-free beverages also served)
Duration: 4 hours
Cost: € 40.00

Staufen: The Mephisto Tour
This tour begins with an approximately 20-minute bus ride to the town of Staufen
Staufen – pearl of the southwest German countryside, embedded in vineyards
Come along and allow yourself to be tempted deeper into the intricate cobbled streets of Staufen. Hear the story of what happened to Dr. Faustus in the Middle Ages — as told by a certain diabolical “gentleman” who would know.
During the tour, you will not only meet Mephistopheles, but also Dr. Faustus himself, or rather, what has become of him. Commissioned by the sovereigns of Staufen to produce gold, Dr. Johann Faust — alchemist, magician, astrologist and soothsayer by trade — availed himself of the help offered by none other than the devil.
The spectacular end of his life took place at the historic Lion’s Inn where you will have an opportunity to view a mural depicting this very scene.
Never averse to a noble drop or two, Mephisto will be happy to accompany you to the Uhlmann Wine Estate for a glass of sparkling wine. Once all are refreshed, the tour will continue. Do make sure not to sell your soul along the way because the finest of cakes and a hot beverage await you at the famous Café Decker.
(alcohol-free beverages also served)
Duration: around 4 hours
Cost: € 40.00
Tour 3: »Red Farmer Tour«

Glottertal near Freiburg
This tour begins with an approximately 15-minute bus ride to the town of Glottertal.
The Red Farmer, played by a professional actor, will regale you with stories and anecdotes about Glottertal and the Black Forest. In the company of the Red Farmer, you will visit an original Black Forest cheesery where you will have an opportunity to learn how delicious cheese is made from milk. Tasting is naturally allowed!
But it is not only cheese that is stored in Glottertal for purposes of aging. Wines also need time before they taste good. You will find out more about this when you visit the wine cellar of the Glottertal Winegrowers Association. From here, the Red Farmer will accompany you to an orchard distillery where you see how spirits are made. Tasting and purchasing allowed!
You can also find out the latest dramatic developments in the home of the world famous “Black Forest Clinic.”

Tour 4: »Marie Antoinette, Goethe and Black Forest Craftsmanship«

Ravenna Chasm and Glassworks
This tour begins with an approximately 30-minute bus ride to the Sternen Estate.
The Sternen Estate is located in Höllental at the entrance to the Ravenna Chasm. This is where the 14-year-old Marie Antoinette sojourned on her way from Vienna to Paris where she was to be married to the future king of France, Louis XVI. One of the most famous of German poets, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, also sojourned here. From here, you will be guided to the former customs building and to the chapel. Many legends have been told about this location. As a changing station for horses on a main highway of earlier times, it was an important station for travelers.
You will then have an opportunity to experience the wild and romantic beauty of the Ravenna chasm and view the impressive railway viaduct.
Just like the travelers of long ago, you will take a break at the Sternen Estate.
Then it will get hot as the tour continues with a visit to the glassworks where you will have a chance to admire the ancient craft of glassblowing and purchase a souvenir.
Duration: around 4 hours
Cost: € 40.00
